This year was full of immense hurdles in the refugee resettlement world.

We experienced unprecedented federal funding cuts and uncertainties that put refugees and immigrants at serious risk. While NICE was able to celebrate 20 years of service, many agencies around the country were forced to end their programs and close their doors.

Despite the challenges that arose, we were humbled and uplifted by the unwavering support of the Middle Tennessee community. Your generosity kept us afloat and rejuvenated our spirits during one of the most difficult seasons in NICE’s 20-year history. From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.

We also witnessed encouraging areas of growth this year. Our Adult Education program expanded to 10 sites across Greater Nashville and our Youth Summer Camp had more attendees than any prior year. We’re finding new ways to help clients build careers through workforce development programming so they can reach financial stability. Together, we’ve raised more funds than ever before, proving what we know to be true—Nashville cares about refugees and immigrants.

As we near the end of the year, we hold in tandem the grief for all that was lost and the hope for all that is to come. Though numerous changes came our way, our mission has remained the same—to ensure refugees and immigrants achieve their full potential now and for generations to come.

We are grateful at the end of 2025 for the ability to keep serving our New American neighbors, but we need your support to continue in 2026. Will you join us in our goal of raising $100,000 in December to empower refugees and immigrants to thrive in Middle Tennessee? Will you help us provide language education, employment support, healthcare navigation, and more to those who need it? Your generosity sustains these vital programs that change lives right here in our city. We can’t wait for your end of year giving to prove once more—Nashville cares about refugees and immigrants.
