John A. Ujwok is originally from South Sudan. He holds an MPH in epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2012, John went to work for CBM in South Sudan as its Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) Coordinator where he worked collaboratively with the World Health Organization (WHO), the national Ministry of Health, and other partners in preventing river blindness (onchocerciasis) and other neglected infectious tropical diseases. Before coming to NICE, John spent over a year working in the research and development microbiology laboratory at Hormel Foods in Austin, Minnesota. Mr. Ujwok is currently the Health Program Manager at the Nashville International Center for Empowerment (NICE).
