Workforce Preparation Program

The NICE Workforce Preparation Program focuses on assisting local refugees who have been in the United States for less than five years. Services include skills inventories, job search, online and paper application assistance, resume building and interview preparation. Job training classes are held weekly.

In 2009, NICE
- Assisted clients from 18 countries around the world
- Recruited an inaugural cohort of 8 Job Mentors and paired them with client mentees
- Instituted a new, comprehensive, multi-level skills bank assessment and job readiness curriculum
- Created a volunteer-staffed career center in which clients learn to search and apply for jobs online
- Helped build over 100 resumes
- Pioneered the innovative 'Train to Work' apprenticeship program
- Placed our diverse clients into 76 jobs
