July Volunteer of the Month: Claire Thompson

Congratulations to our Claire Thompson who has been selected as the Volunteer of the Month for July! Claire is one of NICE’s summer interns and has made a tremendous impact in the short time she has been at the center. A senior at Grinnell College in Indiana where she is majoring in Anthropology, Claire has worked hard at the center to help the center stay organized, make sure the clients’ needs are handled in a respectful and prompt manner, as well as helping find and fill volunteer positions.
Looking to the Future: Strategic Planning Session
On Saturday, July 10th NICE hosted a Strategic Planning Retreat where staff, board members, and community partners gathered together at the Coleman Park Community Center to develop specific action statements to address the needs of the center and better aid our clients. NICE Hosts World Refugee Day Celebration
On June 30th, 2010 the Nashville International Center for Empowerment hosted a World Refugee Day Celebration to recognize the struggles and accomplishments of refugees and asylees in our community and throughout the world. Members of the NICE community, our partner Catholic Charities and many other community supporters joined together in a day of food, culture, and fun.
